Elegant Art Deco Antelope Group Signed Lemanceau ca. 1935

Large pottery depicting a antelope group, possible mother and kid. This wonderful pottery is a design of Charles Lemanceau (French, 1905 – 1980), Naturalist shape and so elegant! The color is fabulous.

Signed on the pedestal Lemanceau.

The condition is very good. A few imperfects to report: two tiny chips to the pedestal, two minuscule imperfects of the glazing, one of the hoof and one of one horn of the larger antelope.

Measurements: 20 inches in length, 5.2 inches in width, 13.6 inches in height.

Charles Lemanceau, born in 1905, in Paris. A very talented artist, he worked for well-known ateliers in France, Primavera, Robj, Sainte Redegonde and Saint Clement. He is one of the most important sculptors in the French Art Deco period. His animal sculptures are breathtaking and high desired. Hard to find!
