A very interesting icon painted by Xenia Eraclide-Vreme, well known contemporary Romanian painter (born 1930) , listed by Artprice and ArtMarket.

Signed lower left XE 90.

The icon depicts Mater Dolorosa (Romanian "Maica indurerarta"). This Romanian Version of the Mater Dolorosa can be found in the monasteries of Moldova in the Northern of Romania. The God Mother looks suffering on the Jesus cross.

I suppose this is a very expressive copy of on old icon.

Framed with a simple wooden frame.

Very good condition, no defects. Vibrant colors.
