Superb Box Enamel Lid ca. 1860
The body is made of brass, fine worked leafs polychrome painted. The leafs are applied on a ringed ground. Similar rings are making the standing.
The lid shows a extremely fine enamel work. In the middle a delicate flower bouquet, some roses, forgot me not and cornflowers on white base. This medallion is surrounded by lovely white cabochons and a black frame with green luscious leafs.
The condition of the enamel is very good, I could not find any defects. The hinge is good working. The body has two slots which give produce a slight asymmetric shape of the box.
Diameter: 2.8 inches, height: 1.8 inches.
