Exquisite Pair of Brush Drawings about 1850
These exquisite drawings are depicting elegant young ladies.
One of the drawings shows a young lady playing harp. This is a very expressive drawing, the young woman seams to caress her instrument! Very intricate drawing, even the ornaments of the harp's neck are masterly painted. A very pleased work, amazing milieu and the medieval harp!
The other drawing shows a young woman in an opulent landscape. She is wearing the clothes of landed gentry. The face is delicate and intelligent.
Measurements: 6.4 x 7.6 inches. Framed, original wooden frame made of cherry tree wood.
The Harp Lady drawing is in very good condition for the age, some minuscule yellowish age stains. The frame has minuscule imperfects.
The other drawing is in good condition, the board on which the drawing is fixed has humidity stains. Possible some stains also to the drawing, I am not sure, please see the pictures. The frame shows age damages and worm holes (now not active).
Wonderful examples of drawing, hard to find nowadays.
