19th Hand Made Brass Pitcher
This is one of the most beautiful brass works I have ever seen! The large pitcher is handmade and has a wonderful shape. Just some tips for regarding the pictures: * The lid with the small knob and the nail fixings * The curled hand hammered handle * The joints under the handle ... all these are a proof for the work of an excellent smith.
A small copper band to the bottom rounds this wonderful decoration item. The age patina is superb, the only "drop of bitterness" the shining spot to the side, possible coming from an old label.
The base is not flat, it has a slight bow. The pitcher is stable. The condition is very good. The lid has inside some dents. Inside of the pitcher a white coat, I think it was used for water.
The pitcher is coming from Germany and dated around 1850.
It measures 13.2 inches in height. The diameter to the base measures 8 inches.
