Model or Miniature Bonnet Hand Made and Stitched 19th Century
This lovely little bonnet is handmade and stitched in the Marburg region (city in the state of Hessen, Germany, on the River Lahn). It shows on the top fine hand stitched floral motifs made of silk adorned with tiny golden and black glass pearls. The border is made of black silk.
The two black ribbons are not originally.
The condition is excellent.
Measurements: 4.4 inches in height.
This kind of bonnet was worn by married women. The hatters had at the time models for bonnets with "normal" measures. This bonnet comes from the successors of a hatter family.
