Offered for your consideration is this vintage Beistle early scary “Jug Man” diecut decoration. The decoration is a spooky scary - scary spooky Jug-Man. I didn’t design it just selling it, it is weird! The decoration is signed Beistle and made in the USA It is a big fellow it measures approximately 13" high by 9.5” wide. If you ask me it appears to be a whiskey jug and the jug is drunk! I believe that it is post Word War 2, I am uncertain of its age but is it is prior to the 1960s. The cardboard stock is not as strong as the heavily embossed German diecuts. It has a small tear next to its eye and the feet have been folded and are not strong. It is in very good vintage condition for a piece of cardboard that is close to or older than me! I grew up with Howdy Doody.
When Halloween decorations were first used they were used more so by adults to celebrate and that is why they were no scary. Not until the 1950s did they become more children friendly. These types of Halloween decorations are becoming scarcer and uncommonly seen. I would say on my rare-o-meter between one and five this Owl is at a rate of three, uncommon. Halloween is coming. Here is one just for you! ………….Boo!
