Here for your consideration is this wonderful dual sided Jack O' Lantern. This is made of lithographed cardboard with tissue paper inserts. When you illuminate the lantern from the inside the eyes and mouth give a spooky glow. Initially these Halloween lanterns were illuminated by using a candle, and quite a few were destroyed. These lanterns are becoming rare and hard to find today. This lantern is in very good unused vintage condition with slight rubs consistent with its use and age. The inserts are original but it appears to have faded somewhat as expected because of its age and one has a slight tear near the nose. The base has become disconnected but it still functions. This type lantern is American made in the USA in the 1940s by the Beistle Company. It measures approximately 5 inches high 2 ½ deep and eight wide. It is a nice size and will display well. You can view another copy of this Halloween collectable on page 32 of Mark Ledenbach's 2nd Edition Vintage Halloween Collectables Identification and Price Guide. This would make a wonderful addition to any Halloween Collector's collection or a wonderful gift for someone special. Here is your opportunity to own this piece of Halloween history.
