Vintage medium size Paper mache "egg crate" Snickering Jack O' Lantern pumpkin! 1940 - 1950s

Here for your consideration is this wonderful paper mache snickering Jack O’ Lantern pumpkin! This is made of composition “egg crate” molded paper pulp with orange paint. When you put on your window sill people outside can see the spooky sight! These lanterns are becoming rarer today; they were made for Halloween and usually were disposed of soon thereafter. Those that remain usually roughed up by child’s play or just in storage. This lantern is in excellent vintage condition with slight paint loss and small rubs consistent with its age. The wire handle is a replacement. The insert has been replaced. This type lantern is American made circa 1940s and 1950s.It is a medium size approximately 4” high by 5”wide.
