Offered here for your consideration is this vintage 1920s German made die cut that is heavily embossed used as a Halloween decoration in fair condition. This decoration is rather unique I understand that the tan-to-black coloring was deliberate perhaps an experiment a variant to the shading effect rather than black. The colors are vibrant and there are minor scuffs and dings and tape residue consistent with its age of over eighty years. The owl was taped at one time as you can see by the tape residue but is has been firmly glued and a stable repair. The cardboard itself is still very sturdy and it will display well. This handsome Owl is one of the larger German made owl die cuts It measures 11 inches by 8 inches. When Halloween decorations were first used they were used more so by adults to celebrate and that is why they were no scary. Not until the 1950s did they become more children friendly. These types of Halloween decorations are becoming scarcer and uncommonly seen and prices are rising. You can view a copy of this Halloween collectable on page 163 of Mark Ledenbach's 2nd Edition Vintage Halloween Collectables Identification and Price Guide. Here is one spooky owl just for you!
