Offered for your consideration is a vintage - circa 1920's – 1930s German die cut embossed Halloween decoration. The decoration is a spooky scary cat. It is a medium size cat and measures 11" high by 10” wide. It is in good vintage condition for a piece of cardboard that is close to ninety years old as you can see by the pictures. There is minor paint loss there appears to be a small section on the cats arched back that has been inked over, possible from paint loss. It has aged somewhat but still looks very nice. These conditions are consistent with its age and do not distract from the overall appearance. When Halloween decorations were first used they were used more so by adults to celebrate and that is why they were no scary. Not until the 1950s did they become more children friendly. These types of Halloween decorations are becoming scarcer and uncommonly seen and a good investment prices are rising fast. I would say on my rare-o-meter between one and five this kitty is at a rate of 5, somewhat common not that difficult to find. You can view this type diecut on page 18 of Collectable Halloween. Halloween is coming. Here is one just for you! …Boo!
