Superb vintage French gilt bronze mantle clock set

The quality of this set is out of this world! Made of fine mahogany and gilt brass, the clock measures 15" by 8 1/2" by 4 3/4" and the candlesticks measure 11 3/4" tall by about 4 1/2" wide. I can see A.1 on the movement and underneath on the back also Made in France. When I attached the pendulum I got it to tick for about 8 minutes, the hands moved and the clock appears to be a striker. In immaculate condition I would say the movement needs a good clean and the piece setting up properly to run well. The quality is top notch, even down to the fine bronze lining on the candlestick bases. There are a couple of fine lines on the enamel dial as shown. There is what looks to be the original key with it also. This is without doubt THE nicest clock set I have owned for many years! I would date this set to the early 20th Century.
