Vintage Lidded Chamber Jar -Porcelain

Most likely European in origin- the estate that this is from traveled extensively. The only mark to identify the maker of this beautiful porcelain container is raised numbers on the bottom- 737318#R. There is one small crack in the top portion and three small cracks in the base and has faint crazing. Over all I would grade this item very good to excellent condition for its age. Beautiful green brown and yellow in the flowers with just a hint of blue on occasion. This is a very large container and could be used for almost anything. It stands about 13" tall has a circumference of 38 ½" is 13" wide and has 6 ¾" by 7" opening. This beautiful item and has been the focal point of our den for some time- it is the first thing people notice as they enter the room. More than once we have heard "That is just gorgeous" "What a beautiful piece". This piece is truly an attention getter and one that you would be proud to display. This type of container was used to hold the contents of the chamber pot until it could be emptied. Strange but true.
