This beautiful old B.P. Co pitcher is in excellent condition for it age. NO chips, cracks, crazing – there is paint wear on the handle but all the paint on the body of the pitcher is still as it was when produced. It measures 9" x 8" x 5.5". The following information is the best that I can come up with for B P Co pottery. There was at least one period in the Bo'ness Pottery when the wares were not marked with the owner's name, e.g. J Jamieson & Co, but with the pottery name itself, i.e. B.P.Co. & Bo'ness Pottery Company. It has been suggested in the past that these wares were made during the short period in 1854 - 1855 when John Austine, manager of the Redding Coal Company, was Trustee. Personally, I think most of the B.P.Co. wares that have been discovered, to date, are too finely potted for this period and are possibly from the early Jamieson period.
