This jar is labeled as a "Bale Deluxe Jar". BALE not BALL and it is easy to see why they marked it as such. These are a little hard to find. When Ball reworked the Pine mould the mould cutter over filled the top two cross bars on the E to make it a L it resulted in them being debossed on the jar and very visible. The P on pine is fairly obvious and can easily be seen in the photos. The other letters of Pine were reworked better and almost invisible ( with the exception of the E) but can be seen under close scrutiny. What is interesting is that of the 17 fruit jars (counting types and sizes) Pine made, Ball only tried reworking the mould on ONE, the round quart PINE DELUXE JAR. It has the Ball dimples instead of the full wire bail like the Pine jars. I have been picking for years and this is the first one I have found like this. Condition is very good no chips, cracks, nicks - a few minor stains that most likely be removed. Has a cupped base.
