Beautiful antique plate in Excellent condition- no chips, cracks, or crazing. It does have utensil marks as might be expected for a plate that is 150 years old. The Registration mark on the back dates this plate to Sept. 2 1862. The IV denotes that it is ceramic the Letter and number on the left and right of the diamond tell the month and day it was produced. The O above the Rd tell the year. English registry marks are perhaps the most comprehensive and useful marks for dating any piece of English pottery and porcelain. These marks were used between 1842-1883. Plate measures 8.5" in diameter
