Vintage Cast Iron Travelers or Wheelwright's Wheel

This wheelwright's wheel is in excellent condition for an item used in the 1800's. . This beautiful hand forged measuring device has a beautiful wood handle, probably made of hickory and the wheel is made of cast steel. The measuring wheel has a nice patina. The arrow marked the beginning and the blacksmith counted the number of times the wheel went around to figure the amount of iron needed to fit the wooden buggy or wagon wheel. (24 inches per revolution)No makers mark found but bolt that holds the wheel on is marked- but I am not sure if it was original. Great item to add to your vintage or antique tool collection.
