Vintage 1928 Angelus Call To Prayer Cast Iron Bookends
Original set of 1928 Angelus Call To Prayer bookends by Connecticut Foundry. They are 5 1/2" tall by 4 1/4" wide and together weigh 2 lbs. 14 oz. The are made of cast iron and the paint is original- you do not find many with the original paint . You can see from the back pebbling that these were from old sand cast molds. In the Connecticut Foundry tradition the bookends are nicely detailed with soft lines. These are in excellent condition they can be found in Louis Kuritzky's Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends on Page 299, Plate #2105.
