Vintage blue and white porcelain container from Richard Hudnut New York- Creme Sec A Dry Cream for the Skin Contains no Oils. Tin rimmed cover with paper label stating Creme Sec Richard Hudnut. Bottom paper label with floral border states Guaranteed by Richard Hudnut under the Food and Drugs Act, June 30, 1908 Serial Number 825There is some discolored inside crazing at the inside bottom which does not go thru to the front- there is also a faint scented odor. Approx. 2 7/8"H 1 5/8"D. Overall in excellent condition. Richard Hudnut is considered the 1st American to achieve success in cosmetics manufacturing . In 1880 he registered his name as a trademark in both France and the U.S. His daughter married Rudolph Valentino even tho Valentino was not divorced.
