This Art Deco sterling silver match holder, Circa 1920's or earlier, is marked sterling, was made in the USA, and manufactured by the Elgin AM Mfg. Co, who started in business in 1887. There are also the numbers 260907 on both the top and bottom. The sleek 1920's piece measures 2 1/4 inches long x 1 3/4 inches wide, and is in great antique condition. Its fine gold wash on the inside, with a bar across to hold a pack of old-time matches are still intact, as well as Deco initials 'JRK' on the upper right corner, which probably belonged to some dapper gent of that era. The catch works well and there is a ring on top in case you want to add a chain.
Naturally eco-friendly and green, antiques are the ultimate in helping the environment.
