This little round gem of a hand-painted porcelain lily pin from the 1920's is a wonderful piece of Deco jewelry and would look fabulous sitting on a lapel. It has all the elements of the Deco period and combined with the gold leaf paint, it is a rich-looking piece. It is backed in solid brass with a "C" curve pinback, and is in good condition with a little of the gold paint missing on the bottom and measures 3/4" in diameter.
There was a fashion trend around 1880 to the turn of the century, and even continued to the 20's, and young girls would start with a plain white porcelain blank and hand paint initials, flowers, designs and silhouettes for their friends and mothers and sisters.
