This turn of the century black and white hand-painted silhouette porcelain brooch was part of a trend during that era when girls would paint their friends or sisters pictures on blank porcelain. This black and white piece, on iridescent porcelain and rimmed in gold leaf, looks like a pretty young girl with curls, posing for her friend. It is in excellent condition and is backed on solid brass with a "C" closure. The oval piece measures 2" x 1 1/2". This find has great modern-day appeal because of its stark color combination, and would turn last years outfit into today's fashion statement.
