This charming turn of the century brass,enamel and sterling compact has lots of detail that make it special. It has a pretty little pink and yellow floral French enamel disc on the front, set in etched sterling silver. It measures 2 ½ inches in diameter and is ¾ inch deep, with beautiful heavily embossed sides, and is in excellent antique condition. The mirror on the inside top is in perfect condition, and there are two tiers on the inside as well--the first was used to hold a powder puff and powder, and the second was meant for rouge. Young Victorian girls used to carry this type of bag to a dance. There's a chatelaine ring on the front closure, and I've added a beautiful long and heavy chain, so it's all here for you to use–-day or evening. Just sling it over your shoulder and off you go for the evening! It's a great place to hide some dollar bills as well.
