Mascot Mike of Notre Dame 1949 FE Book Signed Dunne's Mascot Series

For all you Notre Dame collectors out there. This is a Rare First Edition and Autographed book featuring the story of Mascot Mike. His photo is in the front of the book titled: Clashmore Mike II . I have only seen one other copy of this rare book, it was unsigned. I do believe there is also one in the library of Congress. This charming book is illustrated with black-and-white photographs and drawings by Guthrie F. Crowe. The author has inscribed the book on the inside cover "To my young friend Mike Crimmins Leila B Rostiser". There was a Bernard Crimmins on the team in 1949, perhaps this was his son? I do not know. This book is in good condition with some wear to the spine. The spine has been taped but it is still holding tight, except for the back page which is wobbly. The tape makes it stiff to open and I do not want to force it all the way... There are 64 pages. The book measures 8" x 6". There is also some edge wear. No missing or badly damaged pages. The previous owner really loved this book! Having a family steeped in Notre Dame Football tradition I have also cared for this book but now it is time to find a new owner so please look carefully at the photos and e-mail with any questions.I can provide more photos of the book upon request. I want to make sure that you as the buyer are satisfied but with a delicate and valuable item like this I would appreciate this being a final sale item. I do not want to get it back damaged. Shipping will include tracking and insurance is required. Thank you for visiting my shop.
