19th C. Vernis Martin Style Vitrine Cabinet

Presented for sale is a lovely late 19th century serpentine Vernis Martin style French Vitrine Display Cabinet in gilded finish with glazed doors and interior glass shelves. The cabinet opens with a single door and contains a storage cabinet in the base. The exterior is painted in pastoral scenes, the front depicting a young woman carving the name of her sweetheart on a tree whilst her cherished dog looks on. It is signed by the artist and is quite charming.

The cabinet is in good age appropriate condition with some evidence of restorative in-painting present on portions of the vignettes and gold background. The cabinet locks with the key present.
