Miniature Handpainted Watercolor Portrait of Napoleon After Delaroche

Offered for sale is a fine miniature watercolor portrait hand painted of Napoleon during his abdication after the original oil painting done by artist Paul Delaroche (1796 – 1856). The painting depicts a full figured Napoleon slumped glumily in his chair obviously defeated.

The painting is set ino a wooden ebonized frame with gilded highlights, fitted with a later suspension ring. The image is in very good condition, the frame shows slight signs of age related wear.

Size of Frame: 4 5/8" Height by 3 ½" Width

Size of Image: 3 ¼" Height by 2 3/8" Width.
