Offered here is this vintage 1950's souvenir hillbilly jug from regional maker Taneycomo pottery of Missouri. Taneycomo produced these souvenirs which were then distributed by Parkcraft. Production was all hand decorated which allowed for artistic freedom. This is a rather large piece in the size of a 1 gallon jug. It is covered in an ivory high gloss glaze with cold painted decoration in red, blue black and yellow. It stands about 9 1/2" high with the lid in place and is 6 5/8" in diameter. Production run was from 1949 to 1965 but according to the original owners, this was purchased on holiday in the mid 1950's.
All original condition with a corn cob stopper and hank of rope on the handle. There are no chips or cracks. Some light scratching to the cold paint.
