Vintage Medalta #1/5 Footed Vase ~ Experimental Non-Production Glaze

Offered here is this late 1920's Medalta number 1 vase that uses an experimental glaze. The exterior is covered in a satin matte coral and the interior is clear glazed over the white clay. It stands 5" high and is incised on the base Medalta Medicine Hat No.1 Canada. This is normal markings for these earlier pieces. The experimental glaze formula is marked MA/70 SRY. This glaze was not used because the higher temperatures needed induced a firing crack. This one of a kind piece really belongs in a museum.

As shown, there is a very stable firing crack. There is no other damage to this very rare piece.
