It's my pleasure to offer these beer steins from the New Medalta Ceramic company. This company was only in existence for the year 1958. First started by Malcolm McArthur in the old Medalta buildings. It was destroyed by fire on Dec.24th 1958. As can be imagined, production output was low and any item from this company is very scarce.
These beer mugs were made for the Winnipeg Press Club's silver jubilee edition of their "Beer and Skits" night. It was only available to the people who attended on the night of April 26th, 1958.
Each mug is 5 1/4" in height and has a base diameter of 3 3/4". The yellow ware bodies are decorated in a delph blue and then covered in a clear overglaze. The bases are marked as shown.
There are no chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs. All 3 steins are completely crazed inside and out.
