The Sol line was started in 1912 and produced until 1963 by J&G Meakin. This covered dish was first registered in 1910 and by the art deco look, produced in the 1920's or early 1930's. Very striking pattern has scalloped ridges in the body and lid with colorful floral sprays of pansies. All accenting lines are a delph blue. The earthenware body is ivory with an almost honey glaze.
This covered dish measures about 4 3/4" high with the lid in place and 10 1/2" across the handles. The base is marked as shown.
This dish is near 90 years old and probably spent most of its life tucked away in a cupboard. There are no chips, cracks or fleabites. The interior of the dish has a dark spot as shown in the 6th picture. There is almost no signs of wear to the flowers or accent trim. The interior is completely bright and shiny with very light signs of use.
