Offered for sale: Cream color freshwater pearl necklace with boulder opal pendant.
The pearl necklace without the pendant is adjustable in length from 22 1/2 inches to 24 inches. The pearls are egg shape with average diameter of 4.5mm. The pearls are a creamy white color with pink iridescence. They have very little surface imperfections. The pearls are strung on premium beading wire. The clasp and other findings are Sterling Silver.
Hanging from the string of pearls is an Australian boulder opal pendant with a Sterling Silver bezel. The opal measures 1 inch by 1 1/2 inches without the bale. The bale adds an extra 1/2 inch. A boulder opal is opal contained inside of a brown black ironstone rock. This particular opal has no visible fire. The color of the opal in the ironstone are cream, yellow, different shades of dark blue. This opal fascinates me because when it is turned on its side, it is like a picture agate showing a scene of land in the foreground with water surrounding the land and extending outward towards what looks like mountain in the distance with the sky above the mountains. The pendant can be removed from the pearl necklace.
Note: A boulder opal is best viewed in the sunlight.
