Sterling Bracelet with Oversized Single Piece of Turquoise
This amazing bracelet weights 4.24 troy oz. The stone in this bracelet is one of the largest pieces of turquoise that I have seen in a piece of jewelry. The bracelet measures 2 3/4 by 3 inches at its widest. The turquoise as mentioned above measures 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches at its widest and tapers down to 1 1/4 inches. The turquoise is 3/8 inches thick. The turquoise is a aqua blue color with rust color matrix. I was told it was Hachita turquoise. The Hachita mine is located in the lower southwest corner of New Mexico. However, I have nothing in writing.
The turquoise 'slab' is bezel set in Sterling Silver with twisted wire decoration surrounding the turquoise stone. The bracelet is a 2 wire bracelet where the wires have diameters of 5mm. There is a silver plate joining the 2 wires together at each.
The bracelet is marked 'Sterling'. There are a few minor chips on the edges. There are also a few surface scratches which you can see if you look at pictures 1,2 and 3 in zoom mode. They do not extend across the stone and can barely be felt when running a finger across the stone. The chips are also viewable pictures. It is a little hard to get the inside measurement of the bracelet because of its shape. My wrist is 6 1/2 inches and it fits me almost perfectly. There is some room for adjustment.
