Offered for sale:Boulder opal pendant which is rectangle in shape with slight flaring at one end and a wonderful web of deep blue opal scattered over the surface.
This is a one if a kind pendant which measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 inch (at its widest point). This pendant is a boulder opal where the boulder is the deep brown color base ironstone. The opal is found scattered through out the 'boulder' in random patterns and colors. In this case, the opal which is a deep blue almost purple in color shows as a web of horizontal and vertical lines of color. It is hard to believe that Mother Nature created this pattern. It looks almost like a stain glass window. This stone is best seen in sunlight.
The boulder opal pendant is strung on a Sterling Silver 24 inch square snake chain.
Note; A boulder opal is much more durable than a non boulder opal because the opal is contained in an ironstone boulder. Note: Boulder opals are meant to be viewed in full sunlight to get the color you see in the pictures.
