Victorian Hardstone Cameo in a Gold Over Brass Shield Shape Setting

Offered for sale: Gold over brass shield shape setting with Etruscan style bead decoration and filigree work forming the the setting for a hard stone cameo of an ancient Greek or Roman woman.

The shield shape setting measures 1 7/8 inches ( without the bale ) by 1 inch. The bale which is on a hinge adds an extra 3/8 inches. The setting is in gold over brass with both a bale and pin with c-shape clasp. It has Etruscan style bead work decoration as well as filigree enhancements around the sides and bottom edges of the setting.

Bezel set in the center of the setting is an oval hard stone cameo
