1940's Sterling Silver Harvest Bangle Bracelet
The hallmarks indicate the bracelet was made in Portugal probably after 1938. It is 833 silver. The 12 individual panels each 7/8 of an inch wide go all the way around the bracelet. Each panel is a shadowbox like presentation with raised edges surrounding the scene in each panel which are done is silver repousse work. The individual panels include ears of corn, apples and pears, ivy, grapes, harvest vase and roses with sunflowers and grain.
The bracelet measures 7 1/2 inches around the inside with the bracelet closed. The bracelet has a thickness of 5mm. The clasp is a tongue in groove clasp. The 833 silver mark is found on the tongue of the clasp along with the picture of an eagle facing right. There is a maker's mark but I can not quite make it out. The bracelet has a safety clasp which locks the bracelet in the closed position.
