Offered for sale: 14k yellow gold with rose gold and green gold accents filigree ring with stunning oval citrine in a golden almost orange color.
The clarity of the citrine in this ring makes it truly unusual. The stone has such brilliance and fire. The setting is open back. The bottom of the stone is faceted with the checker board cut. The top of the stone has a modified checker board cut with a large central oval. The extra facets make the stone sparkle with such a brilliance that makes this ring a stand out piece of jewelry. The stone measures 12.5mm by 10mm. The complete top of the ring measures 20mm by 14.5mm.
The stone is bezel set with twisted wire decoration surrounding the stone. Natural seed pearls are mounted on a wire which runs all the way around the stone and is anchored under a rose and green gold applique at one end of the stone. There is engraved decoration half way down the band.
The ring is a size 6. The citrine is a natural stone. Looking through the top of the stone, one can see a few inclusions in the stone which indicates the stone is natural. The inclusions were done by nature not by damage to the stone.
The ring is from the 1920s-1930s time frame. It is marked '14k' on the inside of the band indicating that the ring was made in America. The band due to wear has narrowed somewhat at the bottom but there is still enough gold to make the ring wearable for a long time to come.
