Offered for sale: A wonderful inlay cuff bracelet and pin/pendant of the rainbow god by Zuni artists Herbert and Esther Cellicion.
The combination of color is brilliant with reds, blues, and greens. The stones used in the inlay of both pieces are turquoise ( 2 colors ), coral, MOP, and black onyx. Both pieces have the same design of the rainbow god complete with colorful headdress lying on his side with his arms up. On both pieces the body of the rainbow god is outlined in Sterling Silver beads. The inlay on both pieces is stone on stone one of the most difficult techniques to master.
The pin/pendant has both a pin with a safety and a Shepherd's hook which can be used with a chain to make a necklace. The pin/pendant measures almost 2 inches by 7/8 inches. The word 'Sterling' along with the maker's mark can be found on a plate on the back of the pin/pendant.
The bracelet is a 2 wire cuff bracelet with the rainbow god lying on his side attached to both the top and bottom silver bands that make up the cuff. The bracelet is 1 inch wide narrowing down to 1/4 of an inch on the ends. The distance around the inside of the cuff without the opening is 6 inches with a 1 inch opening. The bracelet has the maker's mark on the back of the cuff. The metal test as Sterling.
The bracelet and pin/pendant are both in excellent vintage condition. The only problem I see is a slight 'nip' on the red coral inlay on the left hand of the rainbow god.
