Corn Maiden Squash Blossom Necklace and Earrings

The corn maiden design is one of my favorites. The necklace is made up of one 3 inch by 1 3/8 inches corn maiden kachina in Sterling Silver and turquoise. She is wearing a crown of 3 pear shape deep blue turquoise stones bezel set in Sterling Silver with serrated edges. Her eyes are also turquoise as is the object she is holding in her hands. She has engraved designs on her skirt as well as applied silver flowers.

On each side of the large corn maiden figure is 5 smaller versions of the corn maiden kachina (blossoms) measuring 2 1/4 inches by 7/8 inches. These smaller corn maiden kachina are wearing crowns made up of a single bezel set turquoise with applied silver leaves on each side. The eyes are turquoise and the small kachina are holding a piece of turquoise. Their bodies are decorated with twisted wire decoration and applied Sterling Silver flowers.

The earrings are also corn maiden kachina measuring 2 inches by 3/4 inches. This version of the corn maiden has a double silver leaf crown and turquoise eyes and is holding a pierce of turquoise. The earrings are decorated with twisted wire and applied silver flowers.

The necklace is 27 inches in length and is made up of 7.5mm bench beads. The necklace and earrings are marked 'Sterling' as well as 'FY' the maker's mark. I did not have any luck finding out who the initials belong to. The necklace weights an amazing 5.6 troy ounces.

Note: A Kind customer has informed me that the 'FY' is for Frank Yazzie. She has several of his pieces.
