Art Nouveau Silver Jewelry Box

This box has an ornate, high art nouveau image on the top of a woman with flowing hair & gown standing amidst roses. She is framed by an undulating wave and shell. The four ornate feet support the smooth sides and art nouveau curls decorate the front section.

The box was relined at some point with black velvet which is in excellent condition. There is one small depression in the metal at the back and one on the bottom but it is in excellent condition for its age.

It would date 1895-1910 and is marked Derby Silver Co, with crown & anchor, quadruple plate and 3462 on the bottom. It is difficult to measure but approx. 6" by 6" by 2 3/4".

A great box for those lovers of art nouveau.
