Top quality and large garniture set consisting of a matching pair of vases and lidded urn in Chinese Export decorations. Completely hand painted and super fine detailing. The lidded urn is 17 1/2" tall and about 8" diameter across the body. The vases are 14 1/2" tall each. Each is multi faceted and completely hand painted with pheasants or birds of paradise and great gilt highlighting and scrollwork throughout. There are a few minor base edge chips, one vase does have a thin base edge repair which I tried to capture in the photograph, but you have to really be looking for it. Also, the lid has a hidden under rim chip as shown also. In any case this is an excellent and hard to fine set....these were competing directly with Meissen,Sevres, and not to mention a number of other top quality English, Dutch, and other European makers of the period. These have a faux Chelsea anchor marks on the bases.....known as Samson ca.1850.
