Antique Japanese Meiji Enamel Porcelain Hanging Fan Wall Plaque Plate 17" Signed 18c/19c
Absolutely fantastic work on this. Large at 17 1/4" across and about 9 1/4" tall. There is an old repair along the edge of the panel on the left which I show up close, but the quality of the hand enameled and painted decorations are fantastic and it is very easy to overlook. There is also one small green enameled spot on the peacock? that has flaked as you can see. The birds are great in detail, but the foliage is a knock out. These are signed on the far left as shown in the photograph. This has a real presence and I believe to be at least 130 years old, but maybe older. One of the best I have seen. Signed as shown.
