Though it took a bit of detective work the marks, while worn, date this unique garnet and pearl ring to Birmingham, England 1864. The two oval cut purple-red garnets are accented by two white pearls, while the outline of the setting is picked out in hand crafted bead work. Tapering into a truncated split shank band, this gorgeous example of craftsmanship and design is uniquely Victorian in every way.
In excellent condition, this one of a kind mid-Victorian ring weighs 2.3 grams, bears the mark for 15k gold and is currently a US size 6. It can be sized up or down several sizes though care should be taken to preserve the hallmarks.
