Antique French Art Nouveau Signet Ring for a Man or a Woman, 18k c.1890

Made in France during the 1890's this fantastic signet ring is an early example of the French Art Nouveau tradition. Replete with roses that climb the band and surround the large oval top. The nature-inspired Art Nouveau motif is complimented by the added symbolism of the subject matter which certainly places it in the Romantic tradition of jewelry making as well.

Suitable for either a man or a woman, this quite substantial ring weighs 14.6 grams. It bears the French hallmark for 18k gold (as well as a maker's mark) and is currently a US size 10. It can be sized up or down several sizes though care should be taken to preserve the hallmarks. I don't know when (or if!) I'll see another one this stunning, so if you love this fabulous French signet like I do, don't wait!
