I've always had a weak spot for Zircons. I love the flash and sparkle of them, the way they seem to glow from within. I have quite a little collection of my own when it comes to the blue variety, but I've never actually had one quite like this. From a rich whiskey brown-orange to a bright deep burgundy, this zircon changes it color depending on the light.
The natural Red Zircon is a round faceted stone which measures 9.5mm across and 6.5 mm deep and weighs about 4.8 carats. With it's doubly refractive properties, the zircon is a truly lively stone. This Zircon is surrounded by 14 round Old European cut diamonds which weigh about 1.2 carats in total. The ring is hand made in 18 karat white gold with platinum mounts, it was made around 1915. It has no marks and has been acid tested to verify metal content. It is currently a size 7 and could be carefully re-sized by a good jeweler. It weighs 3.2 grams. The photos here show the ring in low light (on the black background), bright indoor light (on the white background) and natural outdoor light (on my hand).
This fantastic ring glows and glitters, a bit like fire and ice!
