18k Gold English Knot Ring with Diamonds, Hallmarked 1918

Even to this day we refer to it as 'tying the knot'. This wonderful term might have its roots in any number of myths, whether it was the ancient European ceremony of hand-fasting, in which a bride and groom tied their hands together with a cord to symbolize their engagement or from the custom of tying knots in rope to form the bottom of the marriage bed, history is fraught with possibilities. Either way, we do know that the knot symbolizes in all cultures the coming together of two parts to form a whole. A very romantic concept that was no doubt the basis for the traditional English knot ring. It comes in all sizes and shapes, from the most simple to the most elaborate. This one is set with three small diamonds for a little bit of extra bling, the sentiment, though, is the same. Love conjoined.

This wonderful and very crisp love knot ring was hand crafted in rich, glowing 18 karat gold and is set with 3 old European cut diamonds which add up to about .2 carats total weight. The ring is fully hallmarked and was made in London, England in 1918, it weighs 7.2 grams. It is currently a size 9.75 ad would make a nice ring for a gentleman or a lady. It could be sized up or down.

Here's to love, romance, and tying the knot!
