Spectacular Art Deco Cabochon Amethyst and Diamond Ring in 18k White Gold

A cabochon cut rich purple Amethyst is the star of this lush Art Deco ring. Hand crafted in 18 karat white gold, the shoulders are set with four full cut sparkling diamonds, but the amethyst is the real eye catcher here. Measured carefully in the mount, the stone is 17.7 mm long, 12.8 mm wide and 9 mm deep, or about 14.5 carats. The ring has a fascinating inclusion inside but the surface is smooth and unmarred. The ring is a size 6 but could be re-sized up or down, it weighs 5.9 grams. It is marked with '18' for the gold content.

I purchased this fantastic Art Deco ring in Paris, I suspect it was made in Europe around 1930.
