This is a whisper confection of a necklace. Sheer brilliance in design, this one has a light and airy feel which contrast with the rich and earthy depths of the purple amethysts. Handmade in high style, this necklace showcases the workmanship of a true artist. An Edwardian show stopper.
Fully hand crafted in 15 karat gold with a matching chain, this pendant is set with three different cuts of amethyst, all perfectly color matched. Five stunningly unique rounded triangular cuts form a fan of about 4 carats of amethyst. The center is set with a sparkling round amethyst of about .75 carats and seven teardrops drop into a gentle V. The total carat weight in amethysts is about 9 carats. The pendant measures just over 1 inch wide and about 2.25 long including the bale. The 15 karat chain is 16 inches long and has a barrel clasp. This necklace was likely made in England around 1910, it weighs 8.5 grams. It is unmarked but has been acid tested to verify content.
This is a fan-tastic piece of Edwardian jewelry, and promises to be one of those go-to pieces in your jewelry wardrobe. It could easily go from power suit to Princess dress!
