This lovely shield shaped locket is fully hallmarked and was made in Chester, England in 1898. The front is embossed with a beautifully hand cut and engraved floral motif while the back is unadorned except for the full set of English hallmarks. In excellent condition, this lovely antique locket weighs 3.6 grams, measures 7/8 of an inch by just under 3/4 of an inch and is fully hallmarked sterling silver. The original bale has been replaced by one that dates to the 1930's. This locket would make a wonderful gift or a very special treat for anyone who loves Victorian craftsmanship and design or just one of a kind antique works of wearable art!
