Large Antique French Gold Metallic Oval Appliqué with Faux Pearls & Ribbon Rose

The entire piece is backed with cream netting. The front center is done in mesh with a leaf & floral design done in gold metallic thread woven on top. The edges are done in a 1” antique gold border. The center features two velvet leaves, done in orangey brown and green. On top of each of the velvet leaves is a light mint green silky rosette, which has thin metallic netting over it. Each green silky rosette has four faux pearls attached, with a bead underneath. The center silk ribbon rosette is done in light and dark blue with a bit of pink and yellow stamen with orange tips.

This appliqué is approx. 6 ¼” X 9 ¾”.

The overall condition is good, with the following to note: portions of the back netting have become loose and will need to be lightly re-glued, along with a portion of the edge trim. There are small areas on the back with light glue remnants. I have taken a photo of a 3” long section where the top mesh has become unattached to the back netting. Once the metallic border is re-glued, you won’t see this.

This is a lovely old French appliqué which could be used so many ways; no matter how it’s used, it will enhance your item.
