You are looking at a beautiful pair of antique French wax wedding corsages, which date to the late 1800's. Please note there is a wedding head piece which is listed separately, which came with the corsages. The pieces were hand sewn onto a very old & tattered piece of cardboard; the corsages & crown were no doubt framed at some point, thus the good condition they are in.
As you can see, each piece has an ecru color silk bow at the top, which has shattered from age. The corsages feature large wax buds along with clusters of tiny buds, along with a few wax orange blossoms. There are green fabric leaves as well.
The overall condition is quite good, especially when you consider the age and delicate nature of the pieces. Except what's been noted above, other small imperfections are: some of the wax buds are dirty, and the wax orange blossoms are just partially intact. Some of the little wax bud clusters are bent with some missing tips, but I would say, all in all, the pieces are in overall wonderful condition.
Each piece is approx. 8" long.
You could use these in so many ways; as intended or possibly make a wedding tiara connecting both of them (replacing the shattered silk); you could also make a small bridal bouquet. No matter how they are used, they will look amazing.
